What am I working on right now

  • I worked on a plugin mechanism for the Team Page. The plugin mechanism should it make easy for me (and others?) to create plugins for teams. The first plugin I developed is the pact list and it works great. The final step towards releasing the plugin framework and pact list is to find a way of publishing it. Currently I'm not sure where on the Team page the plugins should fit. I guess a tabbed layout would fit best (to facilitate multiple plugins), but I don't particulary like the current tabs (at least not under IEx)

  • I guess I have to update the lost password, activate, and resend activationcode pages.
  • Modify the signup page to also support editing of details. Which sucks. -> Make a component out of it and stuff it on the control panel in T3!
  • Fight Server ranks!
  • Subscriber features! We're running out of subscribers

Development Log

  • 2007-10-07 Solved the Viewstate problem. Did some work on the cheater buster.
  • 2007-10-06 Fixed Safari/Firefox layout. Turned out that the banner broke the alignments.
  • 2007-08-09 Got everything running under Vista Now (Development). Now runs on IIS7 here. Even debugging works!
  • 2007-06-20 Making the entire project run with VS2005 - First attempt failed (rolled back to backup) - Now succeeded!
  • 2007-06-19 Converted the project to VS2005... Worked OK locally, now have to publish it to the web site
  • 2007-06-17 Fixed some minor bugs. Made some plannings for other features.
  • 2007-06-14 Finished the signup page for T3. Added referral functionalities: 50 cents referral bonus.
  • 2007-06-03 Did some work on Custodia. Changed the server links a bit. That event validation problem is killing me... Not sure what it is meant for. It is sure new in ASP.NET 2.0... Changed some things there

Fixed bugs

  • Fixed dead-with-land bug. The unassigned land wasn't nulled.
  • Removed archive from FS
  • Fixed mult-sealop. Randomizer wasn't unique enough when sealops are fired within the same second.
  • Changed overflow: Overflow catch now returns long.MaxValue instead of 0, this is more intuitive.
  • Added extra networth calculations when returning good from the market.
  • Fixed TEQ2 History
  • You can now properly switch from page to page in the news browser
  • Hopefully that validation problem. I guess it will still show up at a place or two.

Maintenance

  • 2007-06-14 Windows decided to install some patches and reboot all by itself. The SQL Jobs didn't restart by themselves (they shouldn't - it would restart the round) and I didn't know about it until 11:00. I tried to fix it, but apparently I fucked up by giving out the turns to TS instead of TS, GS, FS... I only found out around 1:30, which is waaay to late to fix that. So we'll have to live with that... at least the cause was fixed.
  • 2007-06-04 Apparently you can't run both an ASP.NET 1.1 and ASP.NET 2.0 in the same application pool. So the wiki and the banner system clashed... Didn't find that out until this afternoon, when Service Unavailable messages started appearing. Created a separate App pool for TEQ2 now.
  • 2007-06-03 Updated Windows 2003 to service pack 2. Did the same with SQL Server. Created a maintenance plan to make sure that all databases are updatede weekly
  • 2007-06-03 Created the Wiki, did some maintenance
